Cory Davis is the Lead Instructor at Israeli Krav Maga Alaska. He started his martial arts career at the age of 8 and began his Krav Maga Gidon System training in 2009. In 2013, Cory traveled to Israel where he trained with Grand Master Haim Gidon 10th dan (highest ranking Kravist in the world), Senior Instructor Yigal Arbiv (5th dan), and Senior Instructor Noam Gidon (5th dan) and received his instructor certification after 100 hours of training. Cory also tested for his level 3-4 at the end of his instructor course and successfully passed.
In 2002 after a frightening experience while protecting a child, Lou realized he needed a fast and effective style of self defense. He began training in Krav Maga while he was living in Oregon. A few years later he moved to Alaska and waited for Krav Maga to follow. In 2010 he eventually found and attended a tactical Israeli combat course where he was re-introduced to Krav Maga. During the training he found the only Israeli Krav Maga gym in Alaska, run by Instructor Alec Goenner, and began his training once again. After a year and a half of training in Israeli Krav Maga Gidon System he attended the annual instructor course held at the U.S. Training Headquarters in Hamilton, NJ with Grandmaster Haim Gidon. He successfully passed the course and also received his yellow belt. Lou enjoys teaching and continues his training on a daily basis as he continually learns and receives immense satisfaction watching the students progress into strong self confident men and women who are able to defend themselves and their families.
